BBMP clears 3,570 tons of waste in two days

During a 10-day clean driving on the second day into the city limits, Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) cleared 3,570 waste and building debris from 458 locations.
This effort covers all eight BBMP regions, with the Regional Specialist responsible for local operations. Bangalore Solid Waste Management Co., Ltd. (BSWML) employees are actively involved at every site to ensure effective waste removal.
As part of the campaign, 1,533 sites for piled up waste have been identified – from construction and demolition (C&D) debris to curbside logs and garbage. The liquidation has been completed at 30% of these sites. More than 13 JCBs, 10 sterns, 60 tractors and 170 personnel have been deployed across the city.
The BBMP has urged citizens to avoid dumping waste in public areas and instead hand over the waste to BBMP’s door-to-door car tips. Residents who find illegal dumping are encouraged to report through the BBMP Helpline (1533) or the Sahay 2.0 mobile app.
