The day is marked on the Krishna Paksha of the Vaishakha month in Purnimanta Calendar of North India and Krishna Paksha of the Chaitra month in Purnimanta Calendar of South Indian Amanta Calendar. Both traditions observe Varuthini Ekadashi on the same day. Usually set in March or April.
Varuthini Ekadashi 2025: How to execute quickly and Puja
Devotees start the day by cleaning the house and taking a shower. They wear fresh clothes, pick up sankalp or guarantee, to observe the fast. Worship includes placing Lord Vishnu’s idol in the prayer area and shree yantra. Diya is lit up and placed in front of the idol. Flowers, Talsi leaves and incense are provided during the puja session.
Varuthini Ekadashi April 2025: How to please Lord Vishnu
In his dedication to Lord Vishnu, Varuthini Ekadashi was observed. It is believed that fasting and following rituals on this day helps to eliminate past sins and provide spiritual protection. “The commemoration of this Ekadashi Day – Varuthini Ekadashi – led to the elimination of past sins and the provision of protection and strengthening of enhanced wealth,” Drik Panchang noted.
The devotees also recite Vishnu Sahasranama and engage in charitable activities. Those who observe VRAT think it brings spiritual growth, psychological clarity and protection from negative effects.
