UN Secretary-General Guterres strongly condemns Pahalgam attack

Secretary-General Stephane Dujarric said: “The Secretary-General strongly condemned the armed attacks in Jamu and Kashmir on April 22, in which at least 28 people were killed.”
Guterres expressed his sincere condolences to the victim’s family who lost their loved ones. “In any case, the Secretary-General stressed that attacks on civilians are unacceptable,” Dujarik said.
Terrorists opened fire on a famous meadow near the town of Pahalgam in Kashmir on Tuesday afternoon, killing 26 people, mainly tourists, in a deadliest attack since the 2019 Pulwama strike.
The 26 victims of the attack included two foreigners from the UAE and Nepal as well as two locals. Jamu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said the act was still being determined, while describing the terrorist attacks as “the point we have pointed to civilians in recent years.”
