The minister said the TN government will prioritize the expansion of the Jayankondam-Kumbakonam highway.

The detailed project report (DPR) is an extension of 18 km between Jayankondam and Madhanathur and a 12 km between Madhanathur and Kumbakonam.
The Minister is answering the question of Jayankondam Mla Ka.so.ka. Kannan attempted to expand the existing two-way lane to the four-way lane between Jayankondam and Kumbakonam. Mr Velu said that under the Chief Minister Road Development Plan (CMRDP), the two lanes were made at a distance of 48 km between Vriddachalam and Jayankondam, which was converted to four-way lanes at a price of Rs 2 million. This extension can be used for public purposes.
He added that likewise, in the case of the Tamil Nadu Road Industry Project (TNRSP), the DPR that extends 30 km between Jayankondam to 30 km between Kumbakonam will also be given priority.
