The Hyderabad-based company said in a statement that Meer marked its entry into the nuclear sector, adding that it was the largest order placed by NPCIL. The order received the purchase order nearly a year after the contract was signed in June 2024.

“NPCIL is the first to award the project using a quality-cost-based selection (QCB) approach – a careful balance between quality and cost. Competing with industry giants like BHEL and L&T, Meil was selected for its strong technical approach and competitive pricing,” it said. ”

Mel already has a diverse presence in various sectors, including electricity, water, hydrocarbons, irrigation, oil drilling, defense, defense, transportation, compressed gas distribution and electric migration.

It also owns a global business and in September 2023 it concluded a deal to build a crude oil refinery worth $648 million, a limited liability company owned by the Mongolian refinery.

Meil’s entry into the nuclear power sector is in the coalition government considering increasing India’s nuclear power capacity, with the ambitious goal of installing 500GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.

Currently, India has installed nuclear power capacity of 8.18GW, and the government aims to triple its capacity by 2032. About 7.3GW of nuclear power capacity is already under construction. Amid the limited availability of large land parcels, the center is now also focusing on the development of small modular reactors in the country.
