Close monitoring of the situation between India and Pakistan: Chinese Minister Wang Yi | World News

NDTV reported that Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi spoke with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday, noting that China is closely monitoring the situation between India and Pakistan.

During a telephone conversation, Wang told Mr. Dad that China supported a fair investigation into the terrorist attacks in Jamu and Pahargam in Kashmir, where 26 civilians were killed.

During the conference call, Wang Yi, who was also a member of the Communist Party Politburo of the Central Committee of China, expressed his hope that both sides would exercise constraints, engage in dialogue and take steps to ease tensions.

Wang’s comments come after tensions between India and Pakistan escalated after April 22nd attack on tourists near Pahargam. The attack was claimed by the Resistance Front, a proxy for Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba, which killed 26 people.

After the incident, India has taken major actions against Pakistan, such as suspending the Indian Water Treaty and banning all Pakistan visas.

The National Bureau of Investigation (NIA) took over the investigation into the Pahargan terrorist attack. NIA officials are visiting the site, a well-known tourist destination that has been sealed to preserve evidence.
