Crime Investigation Department (CID) police were unable to detain former Director-General (Intelligence) PSR Anjaneyulu on Sunday (27 April 2025) because he performed poorly.

Mr Anjaneyulu, currently in 14 days of judicial remand in connection with the case of alleged illegal arrest and harassment of actor Kadambari Jethwani, was detained by police for three days from April 27 to 29.

According to reports, on Sunday (April 27, 2025), Vijayawada Prison authorities said IPS officials suffered from high blood pressure. When the CID police transferred him to the Government General Hospital, the doctor said after examining the defendant: “He is not suitable for interrogation.”

He cannot be questioned on the first day when the doctor advises CID personnel not to question the defendant. Later, the police transferred him back to prison.

A few days ago, CID police arrested Mr. Anjaneyulu in this case.

The suspended IPS officials allegedly were the main accomplices in the February 2024 filing of false cases against Ms. Jessevani and her family. Ibrahim Mtam police arrested the actor and her parents in Mumbai and were sentenced to 42 days in jail.

Following the complaint filed by Ms. Yeswani, Ibrahim Mputnam police registered the case against YSRCP leader Kukkala Vidyasagar in September 2024 and five police officers including Mr. Anjaneyulu.
