Is there any reward for a 70-hour work week? This Indian IT company leads H-1B visa approval

Indian IT companies received one-fifth of the H-1B visa issued in the United States in 2024, according to data released by the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service (USCIS). IT giants like Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, HCL, Wipro, Tech Mahindra are the most beneficiaries. Jeff Bezos’ Amazon remains the top recipient of H-1B visa approval in 2024.
The H-1B non-immigrant visa program allows temporary hiring of skilled foreign workers in the United States.

Trump administration implements H-1B visa changes
The Donald Trump administration is making changes to the H-1B visa program, which has the potential to impact the way IT companies recruit skilled foreign workers.
Starting March 20, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has launched a remodeled system designed to be more transparent and efficient.
These reforms include the removal of H-1B records for the Foreign Labor Access Portal (FLAG) system for more than five years and the elimination of all temporary labor conditions applications.
A major change is the new selection approach, where USCIS will select beneficiaries over applications, preventing large companies from flooding the system with multiple files from the same person.
The registration fee has been increased from $10 to $215.
The entire process is moved online to simplify operations.
These changes promise to create a more equitable selection process, increasing employer costs and speeding up processing time.
The registration window for the 2026 fiscal year H-1B visa lottery will be opened on March 7, 2025 and will be closed on March 24, 2025.
Delete H-1B visa record
The U.S. Department of Labor has begun deleting H-1B visa and other visa applications from its records, five years away from the Foreign Labor Application Portal (FLAG) system.
The move will make it difficult for applicants and legal representatives to retrieve these details.
The Flag System is a portal that helps U.S. companies find qualified workers while ensuring protection for domestic and international workers. It contains all applications for temporary labor conditions, including applications for H-1B, H-1B1, and even permanent labor certification (PERM) visas.
