The title of Aamir Khan, hosted by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra, the adult socio-political drama Rang de Basanti was released in cinemas on January 26, 2006, as a way to express the 57th Republic Day in India. The film also starred in Siddharth, R Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni, Kunal Kapoor, Soha Ali Khan, Alice Patten, Anupam Kher, Kirron Kher, Kirron Kher, Om Puri and Waheeda Rehman. Rang de Basanti broke several box office records, won many awards and continued to be one of the most influential films in Indian cinema history.

Aamir Khan’s film set a record of the highest opening day collection of Hindi films and the highest-grossing Indian films at the opening weekend at the time. Rang de Basanti ran in theaters for more than a dozen weeks at just Rs 2.8 crore and ended up earning Rs 5.3 crore in India, with a global box office of Rs 9.7 crore. It also won the four national best male playback singer awards by Naresh Iyer, won the best awards by Roobaroo, the best editor for PS Bharathi, Nakul Kamre, and the most popular films, providing wholesome entertainment for producer Ronnie Screwvala and director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehhra.

One of the biggest reasons behind its commercial and critical success is its casting, as it perfectly captures the friendship of the unforgettable characters. But, interestingly, Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra used to want Shah Rukh Khan and Hrithik Roshan as Flight.Ajay Singh Rathod and Karan Singhania, eventually played by Siddharth (on his Bollywood Peput, respectively) and R. Madhavan. Mehra said in a speech to Ians: “Yes, we made a few changes. It’s a huge ensemble. I need nine months per actor. Hrithik Roshan talks to Karan’s character. He loves this script, but doesn’t have time. Too much.

Rang de Basanti, an AR Rahman musical, was also selected as the official entry for the best foreign language film in India and is now known as the Best International Feature Film at the 79th Academy Awards or the Academy Awards ceremony, but failed to receive a nomination. Its soundtrack is also considered one of Rahman’s best albums, with memorable tracks such as Masti Ki Paathshaala, Khalbali, Luka Chuppi, Roobaroo, Tu bin Bataye and Title Track Track Rang de Basanti.
