When King Dasalatha asked his son Rama to go to the forest, the citizens of Ayodhya complained and asked the king why he ordered Rama, who stepped on the path of justice. Sri Muralidhar Swamigal said in one word that Rama told Rakshmana that he could get anything in the universe but not in the way of injustice. Rama said he was satisfied with everything that followed the Dharma. Rama said he was worried about two things: seeing injustice and fear of answering his deeds in the eternal world.
Sri Adi Sankara said in Bhaja Govindam that there is no dispute in the Yama court of the God of Death and he will be punished immediately.
In the legacy of the Saint Athri, Sita introduces Rama to the Saint’s wife Anasuya and says, “He possesses all the qualities of devotion, compassion for all beings, and is a conqueror of worldly pleasures.”
All Rishis in the forest begs Rama to protect them from attack by killing Rakshasas’ clutch. Why can’t Rishis kill Rakshasas by himself through the power of pen regret? As saints, this is not their duty. But Rama’s duty as King Ayodhya is to protect the good people. The saint said that he was following the Dharma and protecting the same person.
Rama is also known for expressing gratitude. He wanted to hear Sri Ramayana all about it, not because he wanted to know his achievements, but by helping his people recall various events. Listen to the lava and Kusa’s recitation, his heart melted, and he respected all of them.
All the truth a person says will become a promise of reality. Rama bravely adhered to the Dharma, firmly believing that no sorrow or difficulty would make him determined to trample on the Dharma.
