Lebanese Prime Minister vows to end Israeli career, calling for global pressure | World News

Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam confirmed on Tuesday that Lebanon was committed to ending Israel’s occupation of all Lebanese territories and called for strengthening diplomatic efforts to stop ongoing violations.
“Lebanon is trying to end all these violations and fully recover its land,” he said.
Salam condemned the recent attacks on southern Beirut suburbs and other Israeli aggression, calling them “a breach of arrangements to cease hostilities.” He stressed the urgency of “activating monitoring mechanisms to prevent these violations.”
At a meeting with the News Corp delegation, the Prime Minister reiterated Lebanon’s commitment to the existing agreement and called on Israel to do the same.
According to Xinhua News Agency, Salam revealed that Lebanon is actively exerting diplomatic pressure with influential international actors. “We are communicating with Americans, French and other major Arab and European countries to escalate these efforts,” he said.
He also highlighted the government’s concern about meeting citizens’ needs. “We are committed to maintaining close relationships with our people and addressing their safety and livelihood issues, especially through improving economic and living conditions.”
He further pointed out that the Lebanese government has formulated a reconstruction plan from the start of infrastructure. “We have completed the damage assessment and are mobilizing resources now,” he said. “The negotiations with the World Bank have received $325 million and we are working to increase that amount.”
Salam also stressed the need to strengthen the Lebanese military in a continuous and endeavoured duty. “We must strengthen the ranking of the military through further recruitment, especially the expansion of deployment on the southern and northeastern borders,” he said, adding that security forces operating in critical facilities, including ports and airports, also need support.
