Congress pulls off posts with “Gayab” Jibe on PM Modi after Pahalgam attacks rhetoric backup remarks

The Congress party on Tuesday removed controversial social media targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi after BJP was widely criticized. The now-deleted postal accusation that the prime minister of not responsible for Congress termed a “safety mistake”, which led to the recent terrorist attacks in Pahargam, Jamu and Kashmir, where 26 people were killed. The post features images with the word “gayab” (lost) written on it with kurta-pyjama and black footwear, giving the appearance of an invisible person. The image triggered a fierce rebound, with BJP leaders accusing Congress of using provocative symbolism.
Amit Malviya, head of the BJP IT cell, claimed that it is visually similar to the threatening “sar tan se juda” (beheading) theme that is often seen in extremist propaganda. He claimed the post was a “dog whistle” designed to appease the Muslim voting bank in Congress and suggested it was an indirect threat to the prime minister.
“It’s not just political message; it’s a conspiracy,” Malvia said, further claiming that Congress, especially Rahul Gandhi, has a history of encouraging hostility to Modi.

The BJP responded by sharing the image of Rahul Gandhi’s AI-generated image, calling him “a friend of Pakistan”, further escalating tensions between the parties.
The day after Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge slammed Modi, he skipped the party-wide meeting after the Pahalgam attack. Hagg accused the Prime Minister of prioritizing Bihar campaigns over national interests. “When the state mourns, the Prime Minister is giving a political speech,” he said. “He must remember: this country is first – parties and religions appear later.” Congress has not issued an official statement explaining the removal of the post.
