Defence of HC trash in Delhi against Chirag Paswan as MP in Bihar

The Delhi High Court on Wednesday rejected a challenge against the Lok Janshakti party (Ramvelas) president of Bihar’s Hajipur Lok Sabha seat. Judge Amit Bansal said the High Court has no authority to rule on election petitions since the election was held in Bihar. The court held: “Therefore, the election petition was rejected due to the lack of territorial jurisdiction.”
However, the court allowed the petitioner to use other legal remedies.
The petitioner claimed to be a survivor of sexual assault, which was “adhering to” by Prince Raj and his colleagues, including his cousin Cousin Paswan, who did not disclose such a “criminal precedent” when nominating the polls.

She believes that filing a false affidavit or concealing any information in the affidavit in a criminal case violates Article 125A of the People’s Representative Law and may be sentenced to six months in prison.

Indian Election Commission lawyer Sidhant Kumar advocates said the election petition cannot be maintained in Delhi because the representatives representing the people are elections held in Bihar.
