Samsung India launches “Tomorrow’s Solve” contest, with a grant of over INR 100 million

Gururam: Samsung, India’s largest consumer electronics brand, reveals the fourth iteration of Samsung’s “Solve for Tomorrow” program, a national competition designed to inspire students to create innovative solutions that address some of the most pressing challenges in society by leveraging technology.

Samsung’s “Tomorrow Solve Tomorrow” will provide INR 10 million to the four winning teams to support the incubation of its projects, as well as hands-on prototyping, investor contacts, and expert guidance from Samsung leaders and IIT Delhi faculty.

This recognition highlights the importance of cultivating solutions that not only do well in the competition but surpass it and ultimately develop into scalable and sustainable businesses that will play a key role in shaping communities across India.

The program spans six months and invites students aged 14-22 to submit their technical ideas as individuals or groups. This year, participants are encouraged to create solutions on four key topics: AI for safer, smarter and inclusive Bharat; the future of health, health and well-being in India; education and a better future social change through sports and technology; and environmental sustainability through technology.

The fourth iteration of Samsung India flagship Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative aims to engage thousands of participants, providing over 82,000 hours of extensive training for design thinking, hands-on prototype development, entry-market strategies and business plans. In the final stage, the team selected as the finalists will benefit from the professional training and guidance provided by Samsung, IIT Delhi and industry professionals.

IIT Delhi’s “Tomorrow Solve” opened at IIT Delhi with all partners present on Tuesday. From idea to impact: program stage

The application window for the program will be open from April 29 to June 30, 2025. During this period, Samsung will host immersive design thinking workshops at schools and universities across the country, giving participants basic problem-solving and conceptual abilities.

After the initial application phase, the top 100 teams will be selected, and 25 teams will be selected from each topic. At this stage, participants will receive online training led by subject matter experts and then perform a video projection round, with 40 teams shortlisted – 10 teams per subject.

The top 10 semifinal team from each topic will then progress to an intensive mentoring program guided by Samsung’s industry veterans and subject matter experts. The teams will also participate in learning visits curated to Samsung’s state-of-the-art facilities, including the Indian Samsung R&D Institute in Bangalore, Noida and Delhi, as well as Samsung Design Delhi, and provide them with first-hand access to a world-class innovation ecosystem.

This stage will be experienced in Delhi’s state-of-the-art laboratory, hands-on prototype program to reach the ultimate highest level of final reach and work with the “for Tomorrow” alumni. There will also be a residential boot camp with the focus on refining ideas and preparing for the final publicity. After this stage, the top 20 teams will be finalized and five teams on each topic will advance to the finals. The top five teams on each topic will be given exclusive one-on-one mentoring sessions with Samsung experts. They will hold prototype day, sales talks, investors gatherings and awards ceremony in the final three days of the competition.

For participants, the top 100 teams will receive certificates of achievement. The top 40 teams will provide each member with INR 8 lakh and the latest Samsung laptop. The top 20 INR 2 million INR and each member’s latest Samsung Zflip smartphone will be obtained.

In addition, the special awards include the “Good Award”, the “Young Innovator Award” and the social media champion, with a total prize of INR 450,000.

The four winning teams will collectively receive a £10m grant of INR 10m in IIT Delhi, providing a lot of resources to accelerate its innovative projects. This funding aims to cultivate their ideas into reality.

“Tomorrow’s Solution” is currently first launched in the United States in 2010 and currently operates in 68 countries around the world, with more than 3 million young people participating worldwide.
