FIR registered against Badshah in Punjab for allegedly hurting religious sentiment; internal details

Complaints representing the Global Christian Action Committee – Emanual Masih claimed that Badshah used the words in an offensive way in his new song “Velvet Stream”.

Punjab police have booked rapper Badshah, accusing the new song of damage to religious sentiment in the Christian community. Police said Wednesday that the case was registered in Batala after a complaint filed on behalf of Emanual Masih, who is on behalf of the Global Christian Action Commission.

The complainant claimed that Badshah used the words “Church” and “Bible” in his new song “Velvet Flow”. Station House official Gurvinder Singh said that in the relevant section of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, FIR registered Badshah at the Qila Lal Singh police station on Tuesday for harming religious views of the Christian community.

On Tuesday, protests were held in Batala, Guldaspur district of Punjab.
