Maxwell may miss the rest of the IPL with a “finger fracture”

Australian all-around Glenn Maxwell missed the Punjab Kings IPL game on Wednesday’s finger and could be injured in the rest of the T20 Championship.“Unfortunately, he had a broken finger,” Captain Shreyas Iyer said in a match against the Chennai Super Kings.
“Honestly, we haven’t decided on a replacement so far, but we’re very strong outside of the team’s mindset and outside of the XI.”

“We have all kinds of players to win your game. So we will stick to that as much as possible,” Iyer added.

Punjab started the game with only three overseas players – up to four players allowed in the T20 Championship. Another imported from Punjab in Australia, Marcus Stoinis also confirmed Maxwell’s injury. Unfortunately, Maxi’s fingers broke.

“He broke the game before the last game of training. He thought it was too bad, but it got worse in the end. He did the scan and yes, it didn’t work well. So, unfortunately for Maxi, I think he’d probably be in the game.”

It was a normal season for Maxwell, who scored 48 runs with Bats in six innings and scored four wickets in his spin.

Punjab is currently ranked fifth among 10 teams’ tables, with five wins in nine matches.

The first four teams at the end of the league phase will enter the playoffs.
