Odisha migrant workers found dead in Chennai, family accused of murder

Naik’s family claimed foul, claiming he was brutally attacked and murdered. A disturbing photo was reportedly showing Nake’s hands tied with thick wires, his body was soaked in blood and his head was injured. “We received a call from my brother-in-law, who informed us of information about the matter and sent us a photo. My son’s hands were tied and his head was seriously injured. They left him and died,” said Rahasa Naik, father of Madhusudan.
Local reports suggest that Chennai authorities recovered Naik’s body from the forest area and informed his family. However, due to financial difficulties, the family was unable to travel to Chennai to ask for a body. They claimed that repeated defenses of aid from local administration and labor departments have not been answered.
Sources said there was no way to repatriate the body and the deceased was cremated in Chennai itself.
Former Gohira Gram Panchayat expressed grief, saying it was working to seek intervention from regional collectors. “We are collecting details from the family and will ask questions with the authorities. It seems he was ruthlessly beaten by an unknown person,” he said.
At the time of submitting the report, the Chennai police or Keonjhar district government has not issued an official statement on the incident. This family demands a thorough investigation and justice for Madhusudan Naik.
