Sahitya Parishat opposes the proposed constitutional amendment; urges the national government. Investigate its financial transactions

Lifetime members of Shivamogga Kannada Sahitya Parishat oppose the proposed amendment to the parish charter, saying they will encourage dictatorship in the organization.

Lifetime member Honnali Chandrashekhar, KP Sripal, B at a press conference held in Shivamogga on Thursday. ChandreGowda, Puttaiah, etc. said parish president Mahesh Joshi had drafted an amendment to strengthen his power in such a way at the expense of fundamental principles of fundamental democracy.

“The general agency, which was originally scheduled to be held on April 27, was postponed due to the opposition. Now, the agency is scheduled to be held on June 22. We will oppose the amendment aimed at strengthening the president’s power.”

Mr Chandrashekhar said Mr Joshi wanted to give the Executive Committee a sideline situation and have all administrative powers. “We call on all life members to oppose such amendments. We will also be meetings convened by the Mandias on this issue on May 17,” he said.

In addition, Mr Chandrashekhar called on the state government to investigate financial transactions in the parish. He said there were allegations of stolen funds while Mandia organized Sahitya Sammelana.
