A story of entrepreneurship, a story of success, a story of going from nothing to having large bungalows and assets worth it, these stories are not just inspiring, fulfilling, and even hopefully we can have such stories. It seems possible from the story of a woman in Bangalore who sold cupcakes for entertainment and later turned it into a company of 10 crore. Meghna is more involved in learning and using her knowledge than focusing on the knowledge she earns. She just did that, eventually turning her studies into a professional application and founded a baking company.
Meghna Jain’s Early Baking Inspiration
Meghna Jain, from Bengaluru, has a love for baking cakes that can be traced back to her college days when she used to bake just for fun. In 2011, Meghna learned to bake cupcakes from her neighbors, and she tried some of them at home. She initially started learning and making cupcakes. When her family and friends liked her cupcakes, they encouraged her to make more cupcakes. Then she began her routine of making cupcakes at home every Sunday, and every Monday she sold them at the university’s cafeteria when she was 18.
From college sales to winning competition
Her college students love her cupcakes, which further encouraged her to continue baking. Then one day, she won the third prize in a business plan competition held by the National Institute of Technology (NIT). Meghna has a new confidence and has the opportunity to work with the Indian Angel Network while she is in college. So she decided to complete her education while selling cupcakes to earn cups for her monthly Rs 7,000-8,000.
After his degree, Megner decided to work in the food industry. She started working for a food technology company called “InnerChef” for 1 year and 3 months. Soon, she started making desserts and ran four kitchens in Bangalore. With the goal of working with a big company, she applied for a job at Starbucks but received no response and decided to open her own cake business.
Her decision led to the birth of a “dream” in 2018. At some point, Meghna began making gift baskets for businesses during Diwali.
