Air India temporarily extends its duties to rest for long-distance crew members during Pakistani aviation ban

According to an internal memorandum, aviation regulators allow Air India to temporarily extend the maximum duty time and rest time for pilots on long-distance routes to allow airlines to resolve Pakistan's airspace ban.
According to the memorandum, the exemption is about two weeks and applies to Airbus and Boeing long-haul aircraft, and the memorandum says the exemption resolves flights to U.S. destinations when a permanent solution is developed.
The memo shows that the exemption adds the largest flight tax period – usually between tax reports for pilots and cabin staff and the end of flight-related activities.
The Ministry of Civil Aviation in India and India, the General Administration of Civil Aviation (DGCA) within the department has not yet commented.
Fuel costs and longer journey times and longer journey times for Air India exploded after Pakistan's attack on tourists in Kashmir, India last week.
