President Droupadi Murmu unveiled a house for seniors (mostly women) in the village of Ariyur, a suburb restricted by Vellore Corporation on Friday.
Accompanied by senior social welfare officials, collector VR Subbulaxmi inspected the new home, maintained by the Organization for Rural Development (ORD), a local NGO that works for the elderly and children in the area. “This is the first such facility to be funded by the Union Department of Social Justice and Authorization. This funding helps provide better facilities for prisoners.” Hindus.
The new home covers two acres of spacious, spacious prisoners with a large dining room, living room and a library. About 50 prisoners were cared for at home. Most of them are in their 60s. The house accommodates at least 70 people at a time.
Officials said the home has been selected under the Comprehensive Seniors Program (IPSRC) to better maintain the facility, including providing timely health care to its inmates. The program provides grants to NGOs and other organizations to implement programs that meet the basic needs of older people, including food, shelter, health care and intergenerational bonds.
Currently, officials say 11 seniors, including state-run seniors, are located in Velor. On average, each house accommodates about 60 people. In addition to shelter, food, health care and initiatives to live a normal life, it also provides a normal life at home. Collectors and social welfare officials conducted surprise inspections on the facilities, including facilities regularly operated by NGOs and interacting with older people.
