India attacks Pakistan fiercely! New Delhi bans imports of Pakistan amid tensions following Pahargham Kashmir terrorist attacks

India bans imports of all goods from Pakistan as tensions between the two countries continue to grow after the deadly terrorist attacks last month. The State Administration of Foreign Affairs stated in a notice on May 2 that the ban will take effect immediately.
The Indian government inserted a new 2.20a paragraph 2.20A in 2023, saying it prohibits imports from Pakistan.
“Whether free import or otherwise permitted, direct or indirect import or transit of all commodities exported from or from Pakistan shall be immediately prohibited until further orders. This restriction is imposed on the interests of national security and public policy. Any exception, any exception, must be made to the Indian Government for this approval.

The trade ban is expected to hit Pakistan's struggling export sector, which relies on cross-border trade in commodities such as cement, textiles and agricultural products. As formal trade is already limited, the move could also undermine informal trade routes and intensify economic pressures.
