The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will arrive in 2025. Netflix made the announcement in its Netflix 2025 speech. The filming faced several delays due to the strike, but is now done.

Season 5

Netflix confirms that the series will end in season 5. This was first announced in 2022 after the release of the fourth season. Creators Matt and Ross Duffer explained in a letter that the story always ends Season 5.

Production schedule

The writing of Season 5 begins in August 2022. Planned in Atlanta, Georgia in May 2023. The work has been hosting the same studio complex that has been using the series since it was used. However, the writer's strike in May 2023 and the sagging strike in July 2023 delayed the timeline.
Duffer Brothers confirmed that filming could not begin during the strike. When the construction on the set continues, the actual shooting paused. WGA strike resumed writing after the end of late September 2023. SAG-AFTRA reached an agreement in November 2023, and filming began in January 2024.

Ross Duffer shared behind-the-scenes images on social media during the production process. By July 3, 2024, the shooting has been completed. After 11 months of work, the team will shoot on October 1, 2024. Netflix officially confirmed the package in December 2024.

Plot title

The title of episode 1 is Chapter 1: Crawling. Other titles include the disappearance of Holly Wheeler and the escape from Camaztotz. The Duffer Brothers directed several episodes. Frank Darabont and Shawn Levy also directed the plot. Dan Trachtenberg also directed an episode.
