Reibull: In a landmark development that promises to reshape India’s digital future, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai laid the foundation for the first artificial intelligence (AI)-based data center park in the U.S. in Naya Raipur on Saturday.
A Chhattisgarh government spokesman said the park covers 13.5 acres, marking a historic stride in India's ambition to become a global digital power.
The park project includes a 2.7 hectares area developed as a special economic zone (SEZ).
The project is operated by a private technology company and is fully committed to AI-based services.
The first phase of the project will begin with a capacity of five megawatts and are planned to be expanded to 150 megawatts.
An additional investment of approximately Rs 20 billion is expected in the future.
The center focuses on environmental protection and will follow green and energy-efficient technologies.
In addition to data storage and processing, the park will also provide advanced services in areas such as AI, Health Tech, Defense, Fin Tech and data analysis.
It will accommodate high-end computing infrastructure based on GPS and globally standard AI processing facilities.
“This initiative will not only establish Chhattisgarh as a leader in science and technology, but will also open up new avenues for local talent. The Chief Minister said services such as GPU-based computing, AI processing, data analytics and live streaming will be available under one roof.
He added that this is not only a data center, but also a digital backbone in the new era of growth and empowerment.
