New Delhi: Tensions in Pakistan have intensified after April 22 in Pahalgam, Air Marshal Amar Preet Singh met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence on Sunday. The hour-long discussion highlighted India's military readiness the day after Modi met with Navy Chief Admiral Dinesh K. Tripathi.

Later in the day, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh spoke in Sanatan Sanskriti Jagran Mahotsav, promising decisive revenge on those responsible for the Pahalgam strike. “As Minister of Defense, it is my duty to work with our soldiers and give a proper reply to anyone who is evil to India,” he said. Singh added that under Prime Minister Modi’s adventure, “what will definitely happen to you.”

In terms of procurement, the Indian army has taken other Russian-Russian Igla-s shoulders to shoulder to air missiles under the emergency power granted by the center. These systems are being deployed to address potential threats from fighter jets, helicopters and drones along the border.

On Tuesday, in a high-level review with India's top military brass tubes, Modi granted the armed forces “complete freedom of combat” to determine the target, timing and method of any reaction. Since then, the Indian Air Force has been on high alert and the Navy has conducted active exercises in the Arabian Sea to prove its preparation.

Meanwhile, New Delhi took punitive actions against Pakistan: it suspended the Indian waters treaty, closed the transit of the Atari land border, lowered diplomatic ties, banned imports from Pakistan on national security grounds, stopped postal services, and banned Indian ports in Pakistan-Pakistan-Phil Frai format.
