Inauguration of the Center for Imaging and Research Based on Artificial Intelligence

The Rajalakshmi Advanced Diagnostics and Applied radiomics (Radar) Centre recently opened at the Rajalakshmi Medical College Hospital and Research Institute in Kilpauk.

The center is located in the Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences and was established on May 1. It will focus on the use of artificial intelligence in medical imaging and supporting interdisciplinary research involving medicine and engineering.

A key feature of the release is the formal inauguration of the newly installed AI-enabled MRI machine, which will be used to obtain advanced precision diagnostic and radiological studies. “With Radar, we have not only built a diagnostic facility, but also shaped a collaborative laboratory where the best medicine and technology can meet,” said Haree Shankar Meganathan, vice chairman of the Rajalakshmi agency.

NR Mani is Vice President and Head of Human Resources at Murugappa Group Carborundum Universal Ltd. Faculty, clinicians, technicians and students also participated in the event.

The initiative is part of a broader effort by Rajalakshmi Health City to integrate education, research and clinical services into a unified platform that focuses on the development of national and global healthcare.
