Air India suspends Tel Aviv flights after Houthi missile strike

The airline's AI139 flight from Delhi to Tel Aviv was transferred to Abu Dhabi where it landed safely. According to an Air India spokesman, the flight will return to Delhi soon.
Following the incident, Air India announced a waiver for customers who booked valid tickets between May 4 and May 6, allowing them to reschedule flights or receive a full refund for cancellation.
“Related to the development of Tel Aviv this morning, our operations to and from Tel Aviv will be suspended immediately until May 6, 2025 to ensure the safety of our customers and employees. Our colleagues are on site to help customers and help them with other arrangements.”
It added: “Customers who book on our flights who have valid tickets between 4 and 6 May 2025 will receive a one-time waiver for rescheduling or full refund for cancellation. We would like to reiterate that the safety of our customers and crew remains a priority at Air India.”
The Israeli military tried to intercept the missiles launched by Yemen, but could not be shot down. “The impact was found in the Ben Gurion Airport area,” the military said.
According to the Israeli Times, the Israeli Air Force's air defense system is under investigation.
The victims of the attack included a man in his 50s with limb injuries and two women aged 54 and 38 were attacked by shock waves, but were in stable condition.
The MDA said a 64-year-old man was hit by an object flying in at the impact scene, while two other women, 22 and 34, were slightly injured while escaping the shelter.
According to the Israeli era, two other people were treated for acute anxiety.
The injured were taken to hospitals in central Israel.
At the same time, earlier surveillance videos showed that the missile hit a wood near a passage around the airport.
