Hailstorm's eyelash part Telangana, IMD's weather alert until May 11

Hyderabad: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a weather warning after reporting hail reports in the Medak areas of Kamareddy, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad and Telangana.

A north-south trough, extending from Southeast Madhya Pradesh to South Karnataka in Telangana, is currently affecting the weather patterns in the region.

IMD predicted rainstorms and thunderstorms in various areas of Telangana by May 11.
Weather warning for the next 7 days

Orange Alert (May 5-7):

Thunderstorms, lightning, gusts (40-50 kmph) and hail risks are expected to be strong. Affected areas include:

May 5: Adilabad, Komaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Bhadradri Kothagudem, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Sangareddy, Medak, Medak and Kamareddy.

May 6-7: Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon and Siddipet.

Yellow Alert (May 5-9):

Thunderstorm forecasts for gusts of wind (30-40 kmph) include: Hyderabad, Landdi, Megal Malkagiri, Karimnagar, Karimnagar, Peddhapali, Jayashankar Bopapali, Mur, Muluga, Murug, Nagar Karnur, Nagar Karnur, Wanaparthy, Nararayananpet.

No weather warnings were issued on May 10 and 11.

Over the next 48 hours, Hyderabad is expected to see partially cloudy skies, rain or thunderstorms in the evening or at night. The gusts of wind are expected to be 30-40 kmph.

The temperature is expected to hover around 36°C (maximum) and 25–26°C (min).

Consultations for farmers and residents:

Farmers are advised to take necessary precautions to protect crops from hail damage and flooding. Residents in affected areas should stay indoors during thunderstorms and fix outdoor objects loose.

IMD continues to closely monitor weather conditions and will release further updates as needed.
