The highest salary for a U.S. CEO is nine-digit. Not Tim Cook or Satya Nadella; this is how much money he made in 2024

When it comes to CEO salaries, one would imagine Apple's Tim Cook or Microsoft's Satya Nadella bringing home the highest salary. However, a recent study has broken this concept, which shows that no popular CEO receives the highest salary package in the United States.
According to an Equilar report, the report early looked at the top-paid CEO in the U.S. in 2024, with coherent CEO Jim Anderson ranked first.
Jim Anderson, the highest-paid CEO in the United States, hasn't heard much. However, he is the only CEO on the top 10 list, with a salary of more than nine figures and nearly $101.5 million.
According to the Equilar report, in 2024, Anderson's total salary is $101,497,009.
“The highest ranking this year is coherent CEO Jim Anderson, who received a $101.5 million total compensation package,” it said.
Starbucks CEO Brian Niccol is close to the point, earning $95.8 million after his appointment in September 2024.
However, after all agent statements are submitted in 2024, Anderson can still be replaced because of the highest salaries CEO.
Jim Anderson's salary plan
The study shows that over 90% of Jim Anderson comes in the form of long-term equity rewards.
Jim Anderson's base salary is $1.06 million, according to Coherent's 2024 agent statement. But since joining in June 2024, he has received only $81,538 in cash. When he joined the company, he also received a signing bonus of $500,000.
However, the basic salary and signing bonus are just a small part of Anderson's great fortune.
Coherent's proxy statement shows it paid the CEO more than $100,000,000 in stock rewards.
