Siraj gets a special T20 World Cup ring from Rohit Sharma

Indian captain Rohit Sharma on Monday presented a special T20 World Cup winning ring to pacemaker Mohammed Siraj before the Mumbai Indians faced off against Gujarat Titans at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

A custom ring with player name and jersey number, and the top of Ashok Chakra is the Council of Cricket Control in India (BCCI), made for all the players from all Indian players who participated in last year's T20 World Cup.

BCCI had shown special rings to team members who won the World Cup during the “Naman Award” held earlier this year. Siraj missed the event.

“This is for Mohammed Siraj, we miss you functionally. You play a crucial role in our T20 campaign. A very special ring is made for all of us and unfortunately Siraj is not there (at the event), so I want to introduce it to Mr. Siraj,” Rohit said while introducing the ring.

Show off the ring Siraj said: “Champion”.

Meanwhile, their respective IPL teams – Gujarat Giants and Mumbai Indians will face each other's playoffs on Tuesday.
