Two weeks after the attack on Pahargam in Jamu and Kashmir, more than 25 people, most of whom were tourists in the valley, were killed, and the Indian government will conduct the most extensive national defense simulation exercises amid tensions with Pakistan and the Indian-Pakistan war that caused Bangladesh since the 1971 India-Pakistan war. In the event of war or any emergency, these simulation exercises are part of the preparation strategy.

The national simulation exercise will be held on Wednesday, May 7, in 244 civil defense areas in states in various countries. As the exercise progresses, about which services will be turned on and all of them will be turned off. There are no formal announcements on this point, and the service will continue to operate, most importantly schools, colleges and other institutions.

Are schools, banks and daily services open?

The government has not issued official announcements or notices regarding the opening or closing of schools/colleges and other institutions. But updates can be done at any time.

However, the examination department of the University of Mumbai has issued a notice and directed that all examinations planned for May 7 will be carried out as planned, with no change in the examination schedule and the timetables of all colleges and colleges.

Banks across India are likely to continue to open on May 7, with banking/financial operations continuing. Orders directing banks to close have not been passed.

Even if the entire country is required to participate in the May 7 simulation exercise, local authorities ensure that cooperation with civil defense agencies should not cause any panic or inconvenience to the public and make the simulation exercise work smoothly. However, commuters in some areas may face traffic congestion, or evacuation, and some power outages.

Additionally, daily essential services such as public transportation, trains, buses and flights will continue to operate on a schedule. Emergency services including hospitals, emergency response teams and daily utilities will also operate as usual.
