BMTC responds after video shows older man behaving inappropriately with female passengers

The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transportation Company (BMTC) issued a statement expressing concerns about the viral video showing an elderly man allegedly performing poorly with a woman on a BMTC bus.

The incident reportedly took place on bus number KA 51 F 6204 at about 3.30 pm on Monday, operating on Highway 276/22 near Vidyaranyapura. The video, widely shared on social media, shows a confrontation between an elderly man and a woman, sparking public anger.

BMTC said it has been aware of the incident. “BMTC reiterates its zero tolerance policy for any form of harassment or misconduct against female passengers,” the company said in a statement Tuesday.

BMTC added that it is committed to ensuring passenger safety and will take appropriate action if formal complaints are filed.
