30 huts of firepower in the Senagal colony

Hyderabad:A fire broke out in the Senagar colony on Tuesday, reducing 30 cottages to ashes. Although there were no casualties, residents were heartbroken by the loss of savings, household supplies and important documents.

Nagole inspector A. Surya Naik said the fire started at 507 hut around 11.40 a.m. and belonged to Goswami Rakesh on 7th Street.

The fires are scattered across the seven-acre settlement that houses nearly 650 homes, including cement brick structures. Ten cabins in 7th Street, 11 cabins in 8th Street, and five cabins in 9th Street were dug in 4th Street. “The cottages here are made of plastic covers, which caused the fire to spread rapidly. Only cement brick houses can withstand the flames. Otherwise, the damage will be worse.”

Six fire bids, Nagor police and DRF team arrived at the scene and managed to contain the fire before it could spread further. “We went into the house and removed at least 50 cylinders to prevent other explosions,” explained Neik Inspector Naik.

After the flames were extinguished, the victims stared at the burnt remains of their belongings. A resident recently borrowed Rs 1 million for his daughter's wedding and saw his savings smoking. Another parent saved 500,000 yuan for his son's college education and is now lost in the fire.
