Tejasvi Surya opposes national plan to use Hebbal Land for tunneling projects

Deputy Chief Minister DK DK Shivakumar chaired a high-level meeting on Monday to discuss the plot of the use of 45 acres in Hebbal by BJP MP from Tejasvi Surya, South Bengaluru, expressing strong opposition to the Connecticut government's recommendation to use part of the land for its competitive tunneling highway project.
On Tuesday, Mr Surya wrote to Maheshwar Rao, MD, BMRCL, and the chief commissioner of the BBMP, urging him to reserve land for the proposed metro infrastructure and multimodal transport center.
“This land parcel is the last big block on a site that is so important. If it is a transfer for any other purpose, such as tunnel roads, it would be a major and permanent setback in the public transport program in Bengaluru.
