West Bengal Board of Directors 12th result: 90.79% pass rate

A total of 4,30,286 students passed this year's West Bengal Level 12 Board of Directors exam, and the results were announced on Wednesday. According to Chiranjib Bhattacharya, chairman of the West Bengal High School Education Commission, 90.79% of the 4,82,948 candidates cleared the exams held from March 3 to 18. The Purba Medinipur region has the highest pass percentage at 95.74%, followed by North 24 Parganas and Kolkata. Among the successful candidates, 45.38% scored more than 60%, while 16.99% scored 75% and above.

A total of 72 candidates are in the top ten. Rupayan Pal of Burdwan CMS High School ranked first in Purba Bardhaman with a score of 99.4%. Following closely behind are Tushar Debnath of Baksirhat High School, Cooch Behar, Rajarshi Adhikari of Arambagh High School, Hooghly, Hooghly and Srijita Ghoshal of Sonamukhi Girls High School, Bankura. She is the first among female students.

Bhattacharya said there were 143 students with special needs in the exam, passing 51.75. He said this was the last exam under the annual system since 1978. “From 2026, the HS exam will be held in February and September,” he added, with the fourth semester exams taking place from February 12 to 27.
