U.S. President Donald Trump teased the May 8 “very very, very big announcement” to hold “major trade agreements” with “large, respected nations.” The announcement came just ahead of Switzerland’s crucial U.S.-China trade talks, where escalating tensions have resulted in import tax rates exceeding 100% between the two largest economies. Trump, known as the “presidential trader”, has already reached global trade with India, Britain, South Korea and Japan, disrupted global trade and is about to reach finalization.
