Possible India-Pakistan war fronts were attracted, with some countries appearing publicly to choose one side. Apparently, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to express his solidarity. Erdogan called immediately after Indian armed forces bombed nine terrorist camps in Punjab and Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The Turkish president told Pakistan’s prime minister that Ankara supports Pakistan’s “concentration and restraint policy” in the crisis. He also acknowledged Islamabad’s call for an investigation into the Pahalgam attack, calling it “appropriate.”
Shehbaz Sharif thanks Turkish President
Shebaz Sharif responded, and Pakistan thanked Turkey for its efforts to promote degradation. He also thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for his solidarity and support for Turkey at this critical moment. He wrote on X, in an article on social media platforms: “Thanks to our Turkish brethren for the prayers of the martyrs with the outrageous missile attacks of India yesterday.”

Earlier, Türkiye signed a $75 million deal to upgrade Pakistan’s F-16 fighter 41. It also provides advanced target pods for Pakistan’s JF-17 jets and electronic warfare training range. Türkiye’s drone maker Baykar signed an agreement with Pakistan’s National Aerospace Science & Technology Park in 2023 to jointly develop drones. In early 2022, it provided Pakistan with the battle-tested Bayraktar TB-2 drone. Türkiye is most likely to support Pakistan and provide more military hardware.
China calls India’s action “regret”
On the other hand, China seems to be contradictory on this issue, although it tends toward Pakistan. “China discovered India’s military operations early this morning,” said Lin Jian, a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry, afterwards that Beijing supported Pakistan’s need for an independent investigation into the Pahalgam attack. It also announced that it aims to help Pakistan defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks.
However, a Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman did not discuss these issues on Wednesday. He said against terrorism, “India and Pakistan are neighbors that cannot be removed, and they are both neighbors of China. China opposes all forms of terrorism.”
