The Bruce Expressway was closed in both directions in southeast Queensland, and local residents were locked after firing.
“The police issued an emergency statement under the Public Safety Protection Act (PSPA) due to a shooting on the Blues Highway in Coles Creek,” Queensland Police said.
“The police were called after 12:15 p.m. to report firing a shot at the Bruce Highway adjacent to Maher Road.
“There are no reports of injuries yet.”
In response to the police, an exclusion zone has been established covering both directions of Mach Road and Bruce Expressway, adjacent to Mach Road.
Residents in the area are required to be excluded from staying indoors and public members should avoid the area.
Long queues were formed when the expressway was closed.
When Travelston closed, traffic from the southbound trip was shifting.
