Pakistan’s Indian air strikes take control of Kashmir, destroying a mosque, where an 80-year-old man sleeps, reporter Zia Ur Rehman claims in the latest episode Mail’s “Apocalypse Now?” podcast.
Tensions between India and Pakistan reached a boiling point after India released air strikes on parts of Islamabad-controlled Kashmir on Wednesday.
India claims that the air strikes are limited to the “terrorist infrastructure” and essentially retaliatory nature of the disputed area, in response to the Indian-managed Kashmir shooting deaths of 25 Indian tourists.
Pakistan denied any involvement in the April 22 attack, but India said the four perpetrators were linked to Islamabad.

Pakistani journalist Zia Ur Rehman questioned Indian government’s claims that their missile attacks were limited to terrorist activities
Pakistani journalist Zia Ur Rehman, who visited part of Indian-bombed Kashmir, told Special Reporter David Patrikarakos that he disputed the Indian government’s claim that its missile strike was limited to terrorist activities.
“I visited a location in Pakistan where Kashmir managed Kashmir, one of six locations in the Indian air strike on Wednesday,” Lehman recalled.
“It was a mosque: there were debris everywhere, the room and the door were broken. Warlike scene. Residents said they were hit four to five times late at night.
The attack killed three people sleeping in the mosque. One is praying to the leader. He is 80 years old.
The neighboring houses were also damaged. These strikes are basically among the densely populated communities in Kashmir.
India claims they target armed training headquarters, but they attacked a densely populated community. You can’t train militants from 200 yards from the mosque.
Mr Lehman said he believes India is taking out dated information, a target that has not been linked to terrorist activities for more than 20 years.
“We noticed the pattern of these six attacks,” Lehman said.

“They attacked a mosque linked to an armed group in Kashmir from the 1990s to 2005. But after 2005, an earthquake struck Kashmir. It destroyed the area – since then, the community became a popular civilian area.
“The mosque has been a community mosque since then, with hundreds of people praying five times a day.”
India is retaining all its old documents. Their wisdom is outdated, and they seem to have no idea about the current horror: which hideouts are being used. ”
Since the air strikes, India has accused Pakistan of conducting a drone strike on a small town in India that manages Kashmir.
Mr Lehman said the sentiment among Pakistanis is a kind of favored degradation, and civilians hope that the international community will intervene to stop a fast emerging cycle of retaliatory destruction.
“People want peace,” Lehman said.
“But there is also a view that if India attacks first, Pakistan should respond, as this becomes a matter of defending its own land.
“Most people say peace negotiations should be conducted and the international community should intervene to stop this.”
