The false claim has increased in a few days after India launched an attack on the border terrorist camp after tensions between India and Pakistan. Since then, several social media accounts have shared misleading or false information in an attempt to create confusion. This is the second major claim that PIB has debunked in recent days. Earlier, the department denied another virus column, saying Pakistan destroyed India’s S-400 air defense system. This statement is also marked as fake by the government.

PIB’s fact-checking units urge people to be cautious when reading or sharing information online. They ask users to rely on official resources instead of spreading unverified content that can cause panic.

Online safety consultation for ministry issues

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY) has also issued a wider alert on the spread of misinformation. It requires citizens to remain vigilant and not to move forward without confirming their authenticity.

“Always follow cybersecurity precautions. Don’t fall Fake News or information that causes panic,” Meity said in its consultation.
