Simulated safety drills at Shar and Tirupati airports

Nellol: In view of the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, high-intensity safety simulation exercises were conducted at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota and Renigunta International Airport in Tirupati on Saturday.

In Shar, the security simulation starts at 9.30 am. Under the guidance of CISF DIG SANJAY KUMAR, the exercise tested the emergency response capabilities of more than 70 CISF personnel, bomb disposal squad, fire and medical teams, marine police and local law enforcement.

The simulation exercise successfully assessed inter-agency coordination, which quickly threatened neutralization and protection of national assets.

At 10.58 a.m., the second exercise began at Renigunta International Airport, with four armed attackers emulating the role of the terrorist. The two entered through the international arrival door, opened fire on civilians, and the two entered through the old car door and covered cover near the fire station.

Under the supervision of ASP Ravi Manoharachari and the Assistant Commander of CISF, more than 100 joint forces consisting of 63 CISF personnel, 15 local police, 19 armed reserves, special party members, nine bomb detective unit members, dog teams, intelligence agencies and airport security teams.

After the strategic briefing and team formation, the troops rushed into the premise and successfully neutralized the simulated threat by 12.20 pm.
