Suicide drone sky forward key for precise strike operation sindoor

Hyderabad: The midnight retaliatory strike of the Indian army under Operation Sindor has made the focus of the Indian military arsenal (Suicide Drone Sky Forward) a concern.
The wandering ammunition played a crucial role in destroying the terrorist launch pads at nine sites in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and Pakistan on Tuesday night, according to defense sources.
Missiles such as Scarp and Hammer are reportedly part of the operation, and Sky Striker adds new dimensions to India’s strike capabilities. The operation of the drone is unique – not only a surveillance tool, but also a weapon of drones (UAVs) that operate in the same way as missiles.
Ability to carry 5-10 kg of explosives, the Sky Forward can fly to 100 kilometers and hover over an area while identifying and locking high-value targets. Once the target is determined, it dives and self-destructs the target, ensuring maximum damage, with minimal risk to the personnel. Its near-sensitive operation makes it ideal for launching surprise attacks in sensitive areas.
Sky Striker is developed by Elbit Systems by Israeli technology and is made in India by Bangalore’s Alpha Design technology. In 2021, after extensive trials, India placed orders for more than 100 of these drones. The decision was reportedly gaining momentum after the 2019 Balakot air strikes as India hopes to enhance its ability to conduct precise, low-recreation operations on the border.
During Operation Sindor, Indian troops are believed to have destroyed the main bases of terror clothing, Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba. This operation uses unmanned systems to carry out deep missions on hostile territory, which is a major tactical shift.
Officials have not released official videos or statements confirming the full scope of drone participation, but multiple military data suggests that Sky Striker drones have been successfully deployed in several of nine target sites.
With the increasing threat of borders, the use of suicide drones such as Sky Striker demonstrates India’s evolving modern approach to war – relying on precision, stealth and indigenous capabilities.
