China said it will continue to uphold its support of “sovereignty, territorial integrity”

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Saturday that his country will continue to support Pakistan’s “sovereignty, territorial integrity and national independence.” The Foreign Minister made these comments in a statement from the Foreign Ministry during a telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. During the conversation, Dar introduced Wang Yi to the growing regional situation.
Wang Yi acknowledged Pakistan’s “constraint and appreciated its responsible approach in challenging situations”.
“He reiterated that China, as Pakistan’s all-weather strategic partner and friend of Iron-clothed, will continue to uphold Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and national independence,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

In addition, Dar also spoke with the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed, who welcomed the ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India.

DAR also spoke with Turkiye Hakan Fidan’s Foreign Minister and informed him of the current situation in the area. Donald Trump announced on Saturday that India and Pakistan have agreed to a “full and direct” ceasefire, claiming it was the result of U.S.-mediated talks. U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio called it a ceasefire for the U.S. agent, while praising Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Shehbaz Sharif for “their wisdom, prudence and politicians to choose the path to peace.”

The ceasefire dangerously escalated the ongoing conflict hours after India and Pakistan attacked each other’s military facilities.
