“The excess deaths in 2020 and 2021 do not equal deaths on the 19th, which adds to several reasons”

The death toll in 2020 and 2021 does not equal the death toll caused by Covid-19, senior health officials said Saturday.

The latest Civil Registration System (CRS) data shows that, with 2020, the deadly delta wave hit the deadly delta wave, with approximately 210,000 people dead.

“India’s cumulative excess death rate in 2020 and 2021 was 9.3% higher than expected deaths in 2020 and 2021 [for the period]The figure is lower than those in the United States, Italy and Russia, and officials refer to the latest CRS data.

The World Health Organization (WHO) report estimates that India’s “ultrasound deaths” during the period are 4.7 million. During this period, another report from top journals cited 4.1 million “ultrasound deaths”.

Even though the number of deaths recorded in the CRS has been increasing in the years leading up to the 2020 Covid-19 outbreak, the official said preliminary analysis of the CRS data was conducted to assess cumulative deaths in 2020 and 2021.

“Based on the annual growth rate of 6.42% for three years (2016-19), the expected death toll was 81,31,869 in 2020 and 86,54,185 in 2021, however, the observed death toll was 815,882, and the death toll in 2020 was 81,15,882, and the death toll in 2021 was 1,02,24,506 evers the death toll in 2021. [-]2020 and 2021 were 15,987 and 15,70,321, respectively. Thus, the total excess deaths over the two-year period totaled 15,54,334, which was 9.3% higher than the expected deaths. This translates to about 1,249 deaths per million population. ” said the official.

“Several Reasons”

Sources further explained that the increase in deaths registered in the CRS may be attributed to several reasons, including a larger cohort of people, a mature reporting process, and an increased awareness of registration demand, resulting in higher levels of registration.

This trend has been further exacerbated over the years due to mandatory requirements for death certificates related to pension plans, social security benefits and property issues. Additionally, the official said Covid-19 compensation for death requires death certification and prompts CRS registration.

These excessive deaths include 199 reported deaths (4,81,080 by the end of 2021); unreported Covid-19 deaths; deaths due to all other causes; and the possible indirect effects of Covid-19.

Overdose mortality rates in high-income countries are a percentage higher than expected mortality rates, 17.6% in the United States, 11.8% in Italy, 11.8% in the United Kingdom, 29.9% in Russia, 6.7% in France, 5.3% in Germany and 5.2% in Canada. In Mexico, the excess mortality rate in middle-income countries is 43.6% and Brazil is 12.6%. The official said the corresponding figure in India is 9.3%.

“When expressing different situations, India has a much lower death toll per million than the United States (3,021 parts per million) (Italy), the United Kingdom (2,573), the United Kingdom (1,874), France (1,281), Russia (1,281), Russia (7,240) (7,240), Mexico (5,217), and Mexico (5,217), and 820 and 1,820 (1,820), but certainly (1,820) (1,214),” the official said.

Other sources said that in the past, India had high death tolls in India in 2020 and 2021 based on different modeling methods that emerged in the public domain.

After considering secular growth, CRS data for counting deaths were reported at a high level of high reporting rates, with an estimated decrease of 15,54,334.

“India has a comprehensive and socially full response to the pandemic emergency. The strategy includes five science-driven tools – testing, chains of suppressing transmission, clinical care, safe behavior and vaccination,” the official said.

“The virus was eventually defeated by the Indian vaccine made and took more than 2.2 billion doses in the world’s largest vaccination program,” another official source said.

Among them, as many as 1.45 million doses were taken in 2021 alone. It has been reported in peer-reviewed medical journals, The LancetSources say India’s COVID-19 vaccination program saved 3.4 million itself in 2021.

CRS in India is a mandatory, independent and universal system for recording all births and deaths under the Birth and Death Act of 1969. These incidents are reported to local registered officials and each state produces its own reports. The compiled data from the national reports was published by the Registrar of India as an annual “annual report” of “Life Statistics Report based on the Civil Registration System”.
