Srinagar/Jammu: Just hours after India and Pakistan ended their military operations on Saturday, Jamu and Kashmir were subsequently exploded by a series of drone witnesses, prompting security personnel to attract air defense systems to disappoint them. Officials say these incidents in Kashmir and Jamu province have raised serious concerns about the possible violation of the freshly announced truce. In Srinagar, citizens reported several explosions after dusk, with the Air China Defense Forces interacting with a drone close to a strategic army facility. Officials confirmed the drone was shot down.
The explosion was about every 15 minutes, followed by a flare illuminating the dark sky, causing instant alarms and chaos.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah vented his suspicion about the “cease-fire” declaration on social media amid evolving events.

He posted on X: “This is not a ceasefire. The air defense forces in Srinagar have just opened.

Foreign Minister Vikram Misri announced that the directors of the Indian and Pakistan Military Operations (DGMO) have agreed to stop all shooting and military operations on land, air and ocean starting from 5pm on Saturday. The brief announcement by the Foreign Secretary comes after U.S. President Donald Trump said that India and Pakistan agreed to a “full and immediate ceasefire” after talks introduced by India and Pakistan in the United States. Drone activity was reported in the Kashmir Valley, which was subsequently destroyed by the anti-drone system in the town of Balamura, North Kashmir, around 8.20 pm. Another drone was reportedly landed at Anantnag High Ground, also close to the Army installation.

Drone sightings in Verinag and Bandipora and Safapora in the Anantnag area were also reported, and details are yet to be received.

Although officials explained that there were no reports of shelling of the Line of Control (LOC) in Kashmir, the situation on the side of Jamu also showed a similar peaceful scene.

Officials reported that despite direct firing and military shutdowns and military operations between India and Pakistan, a series of explosions were heard throughout the Chamu and Udhampur areas on Saturday night after allegedly suspected of moving in the area.

The air siren cried in parts of Cham City, and then an explosion occurred, causing some areas to temporarily cut their strength.

Although the cause behind the explosion has not been confirmed, locals say they have seen the Army’s air defense forces resort to firing fire in an attempt to neutralize the enemy’s drones.

Officials said there were also reports of mortar shelling and small arms shootings from the International Border (IB) and LOC in the RS Pura field, Akhnoor in Jamu and Nowshera in the Rajouri district.

The officials added that drone activity and explosions in both regions have raised serious doubts about Pakistan’s sincerity for a truce and may increase the possibility of escalation, shortly after the announcement of understanding earlier on Saturday night.
