Nipah patients’ condition remains critical

Despite receiving two doses of monoclonal antibodies, the condition of a 42-year-old woman infected with the Nipah virus on Saturday remains at risk. The woman from Valanchery is receiving treatment at EMS Memorial Hospital in Perrin Salmanna.
Eight more people on the contact list of NIPAH patients were tested negative on Saturday. All 25 people tested have been negative so far. Another 37 people were included in the contact list for NIPAH patients, increasing the total to 94.
When 40 of them are in the Malapuram region, 11 in the Parakad region, and the other is in the Ernakulam and Kozhikode region. When 53 high-risk categories were present, 41 were in the low-risk category.
Currently, six people from high-risk categories are receiving treatment in different hospitals. Four of them are at the Manjerry Government Medical College Hospital.
Health officials covered 1,781 homes in and around Valanch, part of a fever investigation after Nipah’s infection. Up to 52 people were contacted by phone and provided psychological counseling to the three.
