BCCI tells IPL franchise to reassemble the season on Tuesday to restart

The Indian Cricket Control Council (BCCI) is now seeking to restart the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025, which has been stopped for a week in the Indian-Pakistan war.

IPL 2025 was originally scheduled to end on May 25

After a formal ceasefire between India and Pakistan, the Indian Cricket Control Commission (BCCI) showed several signs of restarting the 18th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Now, according to the new report, the Indian Cricket Board has asked the IPL franchise to reassemble their players as soon as possible.

It was also reported that BCCI verbally informed the franchises that they planned to propose an updated IPL timetable soon. The cricket committee also notifies its foreign players of their travel plans. This is because the IPL was suspended for seven days earlier this week, with most foreign players and support staff leaving India to go home. BCCI is now looking to end the IPL season on May 25, the initial date of Season 18.

BCCI notifies IPL franchise to reassemble their players

Hopefully ending the IPL 2025 season on time, BCCI told the franchise to tell their players to reassemble the remaining game. “All franchises are told to inform their teams to report to their respective destinations by Tuesday. There will be a neutral venue in Punjab, so their destination is yet to be confirmed. The board is planning to have more dual titles so they can complete the IPL on a scheduled day,” Indian Express reported, citing a source in the Indian board.

IPL Chairman Arun Dumal also informed that they hope to restart the suspended IPL season shortly after the ceasefire in India and Pakistan was announced on May 10. ”Ceasefire just announced. Now, we explore the possibility of recovering and concluding IPL. If it is possible to do it right away…we need to determine the venue date and everything, and now we will talk to all the stakeholders, including the team owners, broadcasters, and everyone involved, and find ways to go forward. Most importantly, we will have to consult with the government,”Indian Express reported, citing Dumal.

Another report that has recently surfaced claims that BCCI has also completed three venues to host the rest of IPL 18. These venues are the Ma Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore and the Rajiv Gandhi International International Stadium.
