Owaisi defends Foreign Minister Vikram Misri in online criticism

Aimim CEO and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi appeared to defend Foreign Minister Vikram Misri, condemning online trolls targeting experienced diplomats after the government announced a ceasefire with Pakistan. Misri has been criticized by some after the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan and was once the face of the government. Owaisi stressed that other officials such as Misri, as well as Colonel Sophiya Qureshi and Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, played a key role in articulating India’s position in expressing the tense security situation.
“Mr. Vikram Misri is a decent and honest hardworking diplomat who works tirelessly for our country,” Owaisi said in an article on social media platform X. He further highlighted the important role that civil servants play under the guidance of the administration and criticized those decisions that blame them on political leadership.
Owaisi’s comments are posted after a series of online attacks against Misri, questioning his role in the diplomatic efforts of Sindoor Operations. The ceasefire announcement between India and Pakistan has both praised and criticized, especially about the role of diplomats and military officials involved in the negotiations.
Aimim’s leadership’s defense of MISRI highlights a broader dialogue on the role of civil servants in shaping and implementing government policies. Owaisi’s post also calls for a broader recognition of the hard work and dedication shown by civil servants, who, according to him, should not be blamed for the political decision of the supreme government.
