Three friends, all government employees who retired in the mid-1960s, were killed in a road accident when their car crashed into a parked container van on Sunday at NALLACHERUVU MANDAL in NALLACHERUVU MANDAL in Sri Sathya Sai district.
The deceased were identified as Jayachandra and Sripathi, both retired Assistant Associate Inspector (ASIS), as well as retired Government Junior College lecturer Nagendra, from Madanapalle, Annamayya District.
Police said the deceased went from Anantapur to Madanapalle after attending the event out of an invitation from ordinary friends when their car crashed into a parked container truck. Three people were killed under the impact of the collision, but the fourth crew member was seriously injured and was taken to a government hospital in Kadiri.
Senior police arrived at the scene to inspect the scene. The bodies were transferred to the regional hospital for autopsy. The case has been registered.
