META provides the work of former sizable officials for the goal of large tech companies to sell AI services to the U.S. government: Report

Meta Platforms Inc., a major technology company, is allegedly providing work to former national security and Pentagon officials to help sell virtual reality and artificial intelligence (AI) services. Forbesciting government officials to know about the company’s recruitment work.

Meta recently launched its Llama AI model for military use, and the company has maintained a relationship with lobbyists in the U.S. government. However, according to a report from the news portal, the company has opened nearly six positions to secure lucrative government contracts.

According to job role data, the company is looking for two public policy managers, one of whom will focus on the White House. The report also noted that the job role requirements are prior security permits and work experience with the Pentagon.

According to a position cited in the news portal’s report, “lead our advocacy for the national security and foreign policy agencies of the U.S. government administration.”

Previous hiring of Meta

In January 2025, Meta hired Francis Brennan, a former adviser to U.S. President Donald Trump, to lead the company’s communications in Washington, D.C., according to the report.

They also hired another former official who claimed to have served U.S. federal government agencies for more than a decade, according to LinkedIn data cited in the report.

Meta declined to comment on the development, the news portal reported.

The recruitment development is due to Meta CEO (CEO) Mark Zuckerberg trying to win the current Trump administration.

Cooperation with our government

Meta has not announced any direct contract or agreement with the Pentagon or the National Security Agency (NSA), but like its competitors, Google and Open AI, the media giant is looking to expand its operations within the government, according to a report from the news portal.

“Meta is seeing all the other big tech companies and reading tea, seeing the expected surprises that civilians use AI may have,” Shana Marshall, who specializes in international affairs at George Washington University, told the news portal.

“If you’re looking for money nails that will never close, go to the Pentagon,” Marshall said.

Although Meta operates primarily in the online advertising space, recent work updates and developments suggest that the large technology company will likely expand its operations among these companies.
